Advice NI is the leading provider of vocational qualifications in advice and guidance and in money advice training in Northern Ireland. We can design courses in these areas to suit your specific needs and in consultation can deliver in- house courses at a time convenient to you.

Vocational Qualifications

Operating as an Open University Assessment Centre since 1998 Advice NI has a reputation of delivering high quality accessible NVQs at levels 2 -4 to people working in the filed of advice and/or guidance. The assessor and verifier awards are also available.

Advice NI offer one to one tuition, monthly workshops and support packs to candidates. Advice NI is committed to the development of e-qualifications and has introduced the use of IT into the assessment process.

ASK is an innovative skills and knowledge based qualification. It brings together two recognised accredited qualifications relevant to the advice sector. Participants in the project receive dual accreditation from the Open University and Open College Network for NVQs in Advice and Guidance (Levels 2-4) and the Welfare Rights Adviser Programme (Levels 2-3). The Knowledge based element of this project is delivered by Law Centre NI.

Advice NI has developed a range of accredited and unaccredited money advice training at generalist and skilled level in partnership with the Money Advice Trust. The training is available to money advice workers in the voluntary sector and to anyone offering a money advice service to the public. Trainees have included staff from Credit Unions, Northern Ireland Electricity, Trading Standards Service, Social Services, Citizens Advice and independent advice centres. Some of the courses available are Dealing with Debt, Utilities Debt, Debts and Courts in Northern Ireland, Dealing with Mortgage Debt, Bankruptcy and Individual Voluntary Arrangements. Each course runs for one or two days and participants receive excellent course literature. The courses are delivered by money advice experts.

AIMS, the Advice & Information Management System is a client contact database designed to meet the needs of advice and information providers. One and two day training courses are available to AIMS users.
